Baby, Brother, Baseball, Boys & Baskets

Honey requested that I update my blog so that when she checks it the next time she isn't looking at a photo of herself anymore. I actually have another very sweet photo of her holding Emma that I came really close to placing at the top just to give her a hard time, but I'll leave it for the end!

Last night the boys and I hung out at the Bacon's so that I could help babysit Emma, although I can't really claim that I did much babysitting. Emma's big brother totally monopolized her for much of the evening. The only things he didn't do were change diapers and make bottles. I knew before that Dylan was all about his little sister, but seeing him in action with her firsthand, I understand now just how partial he is to her. I was beyond impressed to see how good he was with her. Emma is so fortunate to have an older brother that adores her.

Much of our evening was spent watching a very long Rays and Yankees game. The Bacon clan is a bunch of Rays fans, so I was the lone Yankees fan who cheered on the losing team.....and I'm afraid they didn't fare any better in today's match up either. Oh well, at least baseball season is under way, and I'm beyond thrilled that my favorite player came out of retirement and will hopefully be back on the mound come May!

Our Easter has been a quiet day at home. If Zach was a cartoon you would be seeing him watering at the mouth, tongue hanging out, with chocolate eggs for eyes. Ben on the other hand is sitting next to me snacking on a healthy banana. They are so opposite! After last year's egg hunt, I wasn't about to subject the boys to another this year, so instead I hid Dino eggs around the house. So far they have only found 2. I'm curious as to how much time will go by before they find the rest of them.

Happy Spring!

Sticky Beans

We've spent nearly a week inside due to the boys having nasty colds and bad weather, so Easter kind of snuck up on us. Of course as soon as the boys started to feel better, I started to get sick, so I didn't have anything prepared for today. The best I could manage was candy-filled eggs and cupcakes topped with Peeps. Lucky for me the boys are still young enough to be impressed by any amount of unexpected candy, randomly hidden within their reach, and bird-shaped marshmallows.

In addition to my lame efforts, we went to the Easter Egg Hunt held at Nirvana park for the kiddies in town. This was our first year going, and I have to admit I was a bit surprised at what a big deal it was. There were tons of kids chomping at the bits to get their little paws on some eggs. They actually had some really nice prizes for the coveted numbered eggs. The boys didn't end up with any sweet prizes, but had no idea what they were missing out on, and were thrilled with the few eggs they did find. Zach was happy to visit the Easter Bunny and Chicken, while Ben had zero interest.

I'm definitely wishing now I would have only used a fraction of the bag of jelly beans to put in the boys' eggs. All over there are plastic eggs and jelly beans strewn about the floors, some of which have been sucked on to determine flavors and then tossed aside. On a normal day where I'm feeling fine this would totally not fly, but I simply don't have the energy today to discipline. I do however wish I had a jellybean-loving dog to help me out...preferably one that also washes dishes. A monkey would work too....yeah, I think it's time for a nap.

Hippity Hoppity

Happy Easter to those of you celebrating today!

I was hoping for better weather today, so that I'd be able to take Ben & Zach to an egg hunt at Nirvana Park. Unfortunately we got this instead...

Oh well, that's Cordova for you.

I scattered some eggs filled with Teddy Grahams around the house instead, and they've enjoyed doing various things with them throughout the day. Mostly sticking them in their mouths.

They also enjoyed their Easter Baskets.
