And even more Disney

We've been so spoiled! Yesterday we headed to Disney again with the Bacon's, this time visiting the Magic Kingdom. The boys were so excited, and it was so much fun to see their reactions to everything again this time around, especially since they're so much more vocal. They handled the wait times in the lines really well considering their age and had fun on all the rides.

Halfway through the day we took a break from the park and spent some time in Downtown Disney. We had a delicious lunch at Earl of Sandwich (sooo good!), and visited a few of the shops. Ben particularly enjoyed getting squirted by Stitch. He clenched his fists and literally quivered with anticipation between each squirt, and then he'd squeal with excitement every time he got sprayed. He definitely entertained us as well as a few other bystanders.

By the time we headed back to the park, the sun had set and walking around was much cooler. The wait times had gone down considerably, and we enjoyed the firework show and tail end of the Electric Light Parade before we ended a very long day.

I felt like a kid again all day. I think I had just as much fun as the boys did. I don't know how it's possible to express enough gratitude to the Bacon's for all the spoils they shower us with, but I hope they could feel a little of it seeping through my pores throughout the day. Thank you all so very much!!

Goodbye 2, hello 3!

We're back to where we started 3 years ago today....almost anyway. We were missing Darius today as we celebrated Ben and Zach's 3rd birthday. The people who were there the day the boys were born were with us again today to throw the boys a birthday party.

The night before, Patti stayed up late with me and helped out with the boys' cake. With daylight savings taking an hour away from us, we both woke up a little on the groggy side. My attempt at making pizza sauce was messy to say the least, and Patti added some sliced mushrooms to her coffee...mmm!

The boys had their own issues with lack of sleep, but by the time we made it to the hitting of the pinata and cutting of the cake, we got a second wind and enjoyed the rest of the day with fewer meltdowns. All in all it was a really good day.

I can't say enough about the Bacon family. They treat us like family and love our boys as much as we do. They have opened their home to us, and were so awesome to help throw this party for the boys. It was such a treat to be able to celebrate today with all of them.

Happy Birthday Ben & Zach! Thanks for being the awesome little guys that you are!

More Disney

After the baseball game on Thursday, Darius dropped the boys and I off to meet Patti and Dylan at the Animal Kingdom at Disney World. It was our first visit to the park, and we made the most of the time we had in the park before it closed. We got to see a parade, take a jungle safari ride, ride on some adorable triceratops, and Dylan and I took a ride on my first coaster in quite a long time.

After Animal Kingdom, we stopped at Hollywood Studios for dinner at Pizza Planet, visited Lightning McQueen and Mater, and Dylan and I took a ride on the Tower of Terror before we headed out.

We stopped back at Jimy's place to pick up our stuff and say goodbye to Darius. My husband is awesome. He knows how much I was dreading the return to winter, and he was okay with the boys and I staying a little longer. And then there's the awesome Bacon's. They were beyond kind and generous with giving us the green light to stay here longer with them. I feel leaps and bounds beyond lucky.

A whole lot of thanks to you, Darius, Michael, Patti, and Dylan! You've made me one very very very happy woman and mom!

Atlanta vs Detroit

Darius' last day in Florida was spent at an Atlanta Braves Spring Training matchup with the Detroit Tigers at the Wide World of Sports field in Orlando. Our friend Jimy is lending his pitching expertise again this year before the regular season starts, and he generously spoiled us with some incredible seats. We sat right above the Braves' dugout and even made our first television debut on ESPN. The boys lost interest pretty quick, but we held in there as long as we could and got to see most of the game.

Jimy was also very gracious to let us stay with him at his place nearby to save us the drive back to the Bacon's. The day before the game he even gave us a little inside peek at where he works with the players, and the boys got a chance to throw some balls around in the cages.

Jimy, thanks again for the great time at the game and for letting us stay with you!

Sweet Moves

I heard from Dylan's parents that he's got some serious moves to a particular song. I finally got a chance to witness these moves firsthand. (Sorry the clip is sideways...technical difficulties).

What else is there to say? I love this kid!
